The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while supporting daily recreation operations, recreational programs, and resort amenities. This role coordinates and facilitates recreational activities for guests of all ages, assists with special events and resort programs, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout all recreation areas.
The Recreation Coordinator supports the operation of the pool, fitness center, Ofuro, towel desk, and recreational facilities, while promoting guest engagement and enhancing the overall vacation experience. Schedule Details:
The Front Office Department operates seven days a week. You will be assigned to an eight-hour shift within the operating hours of 6 AM to 11 PM, which includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
Recreation Programs & Guest Experience
- Coordinate and assist with daily recreational programs and activities for guests and owners of all ages based on guest interests, resort needs, and seasonal opportunities.
- Support and facilitate special events, holiday activities, competitions, mixers, and group recreation programs.
- Assist with recreation program promotion by preparing and distributing activity materials, guest communications, flyers, schedules, and informational handouts.
- Evaluate programs and activities for effectiveness, participation, and guest satisfaction; provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
- Provide outstanding guest and owner service by responding to inquiries, providing information, resolving concerns, and creating a positive resort experience.
Recreation Operations
- Operate and maintain the towel desk in a clean, organized, and efficient manner.
- Distribute, collect, and manage pool towels while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Rent, distribute, track, and maintain recreational equipment for guest use.
- Set up, inspect, and maintain pool furniture, umbrellas, recreational equipment, and activity areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of towels, recreational supplies, and equipment; communicate shortages and replenishment needs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool decks, recreation areas, storage rooms, workspaces, and related facilities.
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor pool, fitness center, Ofuro, and recreation areas to promote guest safety and a positive guest experience.
- Enforce all resort, pool, fitness center, and recreation safety rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
- Identify and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and operational deficiencies.
- Complete required company training and maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Administrative & Department Support
- Assist with recreation program reporting, surveys, inventory tracking, and operational documentation as assigned.
- Support other resort departments, cross-functional initiatives, and special projects as needed.

To fulfill this role efficiently, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Less than one year of related experience
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to monitor recreational facilities and enforce safety standards in a professional manner.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Associate’s/College Degree
- 1+ years of related experience
- Supervisory Experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Previous recreation, hospitality, resort operations, or customer service experience.
- Experience coordinating guest activities or events.
- Bilingual Japanese conversational skills.
