Job Summary:
A grill cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards. They ensure the quality and presentation of food, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and adhere to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring them according to recipes.
- Cooking: Cook dishes according to recipes, ensuring proper techniques and timing.
- Menu Planning: Assist in planning and developing menus, including daily specials.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality and presentation of dishes before they are served.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all health and safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to receive feedback and adjust as needed.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established and revised by HGV from time to time, is critical to the successful performance of this position.
- Carries out additional requests by management.
Qualifications
What are we looking for:
- 1- 2 years of previous experience as a cook or in a related role.
- Current food safety certification
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of the job.
- Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking techniques and knowledge of various cuisines.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes accurately and ensure high-quality presentation.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time to prepare and cook multiple dishes simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively and respectfully with team members and management.
It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Culinary school training is a plus.
- High School / GED
