The Manager, Customer & Marketing Data Management is a hands-on leader responsible for defining, governing, and enabling reliable customer and lead data across marketing platforms. This role partners cross-functionally to translate marketing needs into data requirements, ensuring data is structured, trusted, and ready for activation, personalization, and performance measurement. - Define, manage, and govern customer and marketing data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability across all marketing platforms
- Establish and maintain data requirements to support lead acquisition, qualification, lifecycle management, and performance measurement
- Own and drive customer and lead identity resolution standards, ensuring accurate identification, deduplication, and cross-channel activation
- Serve as the business owner for customer and marketing data within Martech and CDP ecosystems, enabling segmentation, personalization, and campaign execution
- Translate marketing strategies and use cases into clear, actionable data definitions and requirements
- Develop and enforce data governance frameworks, standards, and usage guidelines to balance quality, consistency, and speed to market
- Partner with technology and data teams to support modernization of customer databases, ensuring alignment with evolving marketing needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align priorities, define requirements, and guide execution across Marketing, IT, Data Engineering, and Architecture
- Communicate data concepts, standards, and progress in a clear, business-focused manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure customer and marketing data is structured, accessible, and activation-ready to drive measurable marketing performance and growth

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Experience working with leading Martech and CDP platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, GA, Segment, etc.)
- Ability to translate business needs and marketing use cases into clear data requirements and definitions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and consistency
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams
- Communication skills to convey complex data concepts in a clear, business-focused manner
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align data initiatives to business outcomes and growth objectives
- Project prioritization and organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives and dependencies
- Operate effectively as a hands-on individual contributor with leadership accountability
- Balance governance and control with agility and speed to market
- Drive alignment and influence decision-making without direct authority
- Adapt to evolving technologies and changing business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure data is actionable, scalable, and aligned to enable marketing activation and measurement
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Background in database modernization, customer data architecture, or digital transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance considerations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) as they relate to customer data
- Experience supporting B2C or B2B marketing organizations with complex customer journeys and multi-channel activation
- Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, data pipelines, and integration methods (e.g., APIs, ETL processes)
- Proven experience in establishing or evolving data governance frameworks within a marketing or customer data domain
Prior experience in a matrixed organization, influencing across multiple teams and stakeholders
