Our Maintenance Technician I assist us to maintain guestrooms, public areas, and back of house spaces to luxury standards, ensuring an immaculate, well-maintained environment. This role performs maintenance tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repair, basic electrical, and cosmetic restoration.
The Maintenance Tech I supports elevated guest experiences by executing assigned work, monitoring conditions, and identifying items requiring escalation. This role provides support for exterior areas, pools, and wellness amenities—including Japanese style ofuro soaking facilities—by assisting with cleanliness, basic operational readiness, and visual inspections. Additional Responsibilities Include:
Maintenance duties:
- Perform routine and foundational maintenance tasks as assigned, following established procedures and luxury property standards.
- Maintain all guestroom and public space equipment, including but not limited to:
- Replacing filters, caulking, light switches/outlets, and batteries
- Minor tile and grout repair
- Cosmetic repairs to furniture, fixtures, and finishes
- Unclogging sinks and toilets
- Touch‑up painting, wallpaper repair, and drywall patching
- Support preventative maintenance programs by completing assigned checklist items and reporting observed deficiencies.
- Conduct visual inspections of guestrooms and public areas to identify cosmetic issues, safety concerns, or pest activity and escalate findings as appropriate. Maintain accurate logs, records, and inspection documentation as directed.
- Properly use, store, and care for tools, equipment, and materials.
- Communicate clearly with engineering leadership regarding work progress, identified issues, and completed tasks.
Groundsperson duties:
- Perform basic grounds upkeep tasks to support the overall appearance of the property, including light weeding, debris removal, leaf blowing, and walkway cleaning.
- Assist with limited landscape maintenance such as watering plants and maintaining small, landscaped areas.
- Utilize basic grounds equipment (e.g., blowers, trimmers) as directed.
- Report irrigation issues, plant health concerns, or grounds hazards to engineering leadership.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior public areas to support a luxury guest experience.
Pool Tech and Water Features duties:
- Support daily cleanliness and presentation of pool, water features, and wellness amenities.
- Monitor pool and water‑feature conditions (clarity, visible cleanliness, temperature) and report irregularities.
- Assist with routine tasks such as skimming surfaces, cleaning surrounding decks, and maintaining signage.
- Observe pool equipment operation and report mechanical or safety concerns to engineering leadership.
- Maintain daily logs and checklists as assigned.
- Monitor specialty amenities and wellness features, including Japanese‑style ofuro soaking facilities, for cleanliness, temperature, and basic operational readiness, and promptly report irregularities to engineering leadership.

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role efficiently, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in hotel or resort operations preferred.
- Basic knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades in order to visually inspect and detect items needing repair.
- Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools)
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic English language communication in order to communicate with others and fully comprehend job assignments.
- Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 40 feet, for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often times overhead.
- Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally waist high.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Technical/Trade school certification or equivalent in related field
- 1+ years of related experience
- 3+ years of managerial experience, preferably in hospitality or a similar setting
- Prior timeshare maintenance/engineering experience.
- Experience supporting premium amenities such as spa areas, water features, or wellness facilities.
- Familiarity with the operation or basic troubleshooting of Japanese bath systems or hydrotherapy features. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and plant care.
- Experience maintaining exterior public spaces in a hospitality environment.
- Ability to operate small grounds maintenance equipment safely.
