What Will I be Doing?
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting functions associated with the recording and production of financial statements for assigned business units. Perform the assigned functions related to configurations, posting and interface functions impacting the financial statements, including general accounting, payable, payroll and fixed asset.
- Assist accounting functions as applicable such as funding tax escrow accounts, paying property taxes and tangible taxes and reporting of tangible taxes
- Review balance sheet reconciliations related to assigned entities. Determine correcting entries for reconciling items
- Review team member journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
- Review financial statements before distribution for integrity and accuracy
- Analyze financial results, ensure that all deadlines are met and all deliverables are completed with a high quality product.
- Review bank reconciliations associated with assigned business units
- Assist the supervisor in improving efficiencies by evaluating processes and procedures in order to maximize accuracy of financial statements
- Verify that data presented is accurate and complete.
- Document processes and procedures for the assigned functions, as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and modeling as requested.
- Perform special projects as requested by management
- Assists co-team members and internal customers with financial information
- Assists auditors with year-end reporting.
- Provides highest quality of service to customers and staff at all times.
- Work effectively with team members within accounting and across departments to effect changes and complete special projects required as part of company-wide goals and objectives.
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent required
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Advanced excel
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, regulations, systems and procedures
- MS/MA/Master’s Degree
- 7+ years of related experience
- Experience in managing accounting or finance staff preferred
- People Soft experience preferred
