What Will I be Doing?
The Asst Manager Recreation works with the Recreation Manager to ensure the overall supervision, coordination and implementation of guest activity programs, Owner exclusive events and offerings, Recreation team members, and meeting all department financial responsibilities and deadlines. The Recreation Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Recreation Manager with supervising all areas of the Recreation Department.
You are responsible for driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- All aspects of staffing, scheduling, invoicing, programming, planning and implementing on site guest events which serve the purpose of entertaining and providing first class experiences for our guests as well as Owner exclusive and Team Member events.
- The Assistant Manager will also assist in the interviewing process and development and coaching of Recreation team members, as well as represent the department at all property events and required meetings and trainings.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting with the creation and implantation of digital communication/advertising on platforms such as in room television systems, public address music systems, QR code advertising and other digital platforms.
- The Recreation Assistant Manager should have a very good understanding of entertainment and entertainment programming/management.
What Are We Looking For:

To fulfill this role successfully, the individual should possess the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:
- 1 year Resort Recreation, preferably Vacation Ownership, Summer Camp supervision, Cruise Ship onboard entertainment supervision/management
- 1 year Supervisory experience
- Ability to tolerate & work in outdoor temperatures and environment.
- Standing for extended periods of time, tolerant of high temperatures/sun exposure, bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Demonstrates excellence in service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction, responding to guests in a timely and professional manner. A courteous and professional demeanor must prevail when handling upset guests and difficult situations.
In addition, the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience are preferred:
- 3 years managerial experience
- CPR Certification
- Seasoned customer service professional
- Experience with entertainment programming in a fast-paced environment.
