The Food & Beverage Server performs duties as instructed and always maintains a clean and professional work area. Ensures our guests receive the highest standards of quality of beverage, food, and timely and courteous service. Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to patrons following sequence of service.
Banquet Duties: Oversees staff and/or completes all aspects of event functions for the resort operations.
Barista Duties: This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.

Server Duties:
- Complete all the opening and closing duties. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and service area throughout the shift.
- Greet guests in a timely, courteous and professional manner. Anticipate guests needs throughout service.
- Take accurate food and drink orders from guests.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food menu and beverages, presentation and preparation.
- Retrieve orders of food and beverages from designated areas. Connect with cooks and bartenders for accurate preparation.
- Input orders in the POS system timely and correctly, open tabs following SOP’s, present checks in a timely manner and adhere to the payment and cash handling procedures.
- Complete end of the day paperwork as outlined by Accounting SOP.
- Perform general cleaning tasks adhering to health code standards.
- Complete or perform any other reasonable request assigned by management.
Banquet Duties:
- Oversee event staff before, during and after event.
- Assign staff duties for events.
- Assure all event details are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent communication with Host.
- Ensure all set up and closing duties are appropriately assigned and completed; performs set up and closing duties as needed.
- Ensure that all functions are posted correctly on the event board in the lobby.
- Responsible for proper setting of buffet tables and other food service tables used for catering functions.
- Coordinate the timing of each course to correspond with the dining pace of the guests; assist in the plating of meals and/or perform all Banquet Server duties as needed.
- Communicate closely with kitchen staff to ensure that all menu and time changes are accurate.
- Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation method for each item to be served.
- Ensure that all scheduled functions take place on time and according to plan. All rooms are to be ready 15 minutes before time on the BEO.
- Supervise clearing and post function clean up. Check servers out, making sure that function rooms, aisle, and storage areas are clean, and equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
- Ensure all public areas are neat and clean.
- Provide accurate counts for banquet check and obtain signature of event contact.
- Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provide a professional image at all times through communication, presentation, work product, appearance and dress.
- Able to work flexible shift to include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Attend BEO meetings and discuss plan of action.
- Responsible for inventory of conference center food and beverage supplies, proper rotation.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the policy, which may be established and revised by HGV from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
- Able to Carry out reasonable requests by management.
Barista Duties:
- Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Performs cashier functions ringing up purchased items. Ensures accuracy in handling cash, credit card and room charge transactions. Maintains cash drawer and cash balancing at end of shift according to established departmental procedures.
- Maintains condiment bar, coffee cadence and stock levels in production areas. Including stock levels and cleanliness for cups, sleeves, ice, espresso beans and brew coffee
- Maintains café cleanliness by maintaining a clean and organized workspace so that staff can locate resources and product as needed and emptying any necessary garbage.
- Maintains food case and prepares food items including sandwiches, salads, etc. according to established departmental policies and procedures. Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards. Monitors food and beverage expiration dates and food spoilage to ensure only the freshest food items are sold. Weighs and measures portion control products consistently. Ensures all food and beverage items are stored and labeled properly according to health standards.
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Maintain compliance with all required food handling, cleanliness and disinfection standards with both company policies and local health department guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain compliance with both company policies and procedures and TIPS regulations when serving alcohol to members, owners, and guests.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, owners, members and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What are we looking for:
- 0-3 years related experience
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Physically demanding requirements that require the ability to bend, lift up to 30 lb., reach overhead, climb, sit, stand, walk, push, pull and move about the work area of limited space.
- Moderate noise, outdoor weather conditions, high places, extreme heat and/or cold.
