What Will I be Doing?
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing and managing all culinary operations at the resort, ensuring exceptional food quality, guest satisfaction, and efficient operations. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
You are responsible for driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Menu Development: Create and implement innovative and appealing menus that align with the brand and target audience, considering seasonal trends and local ingredients when possible
- Food Quality and Standards: Ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation are maintained throughout all culinary operations.
- Staff Management: Assist in process of recruiting, hiring process for all culinary staff. Train and supervise culinary staff, providing ongoing development and mentorship.
- Inventory Control: Oversee the control of inventory levels, food costs, and purchasing procedures to optimize profitability.
- Operational Efficiency: Streamline kitchen operations, improve efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a safe and sanitary working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Guest Satisfaction: Respond to guest feedback and address any concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the culinary department budget, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Special Events: Help in planning and implementing special events, banquets, and catering functions.

What Are We Looking For:

To fulfill this role successfully, the individual should possess the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:
- 5-7 years related experience
- 3+ years management experience
- ServSafe Food Handling Certification or similar.
- Health Card – must be state/county-specific.
- Food Handler’s Card – must be state/county-specific.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Adherence to strict food safety regulations and practices to prevent foodborne illnesses.
- Menu Development: Creating diverse and appealing menus that cater to seasonality, dietary preferences and various outlet concepts
- Recipe Development: Ability to create original recipes and adapt existing ones to fit the outlet’s theme and cuisine.
- Food Cost Control: Handling food costs effectively to maintain profitability.
- Culinary Trends: Staying updated on current culinary trends and techniques to ensure the outlet’s offerings remain relevant.
- Leadership: Inspiring and motivating a team of chefs and culinary staff.
- Financial Management: Budgeting, cost control, and profit analysis.
- Human Resources: Hiring, training, and leading staff effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing challenges and issues that arise in the kitchen and dining operations.
- Banquet and Event: Leading culinary aspects of banquets, weddings, and other special events.
- Food and Beverage Service: Knowledge of various service styles, such as room service, fine dining, and buffet.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with staff, guests, and management.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage established timeframes.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and situations.
- Technology: Proficiency in using point of sale and restaurant reservation software
In addition, the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience are preferred:
- Resort Operations: Understanding the overall operations of a resort, including guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance
