The Senior Accountant will support the Sales & Marketing (S&M) Accounting Manager in overseeing the accounting functions for HGV/BXG Sales and Marketing. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong focus on process improvement, timely and accurate financial reporting, and risk management. A deep understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance is essential, as this position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and regulatory adherence.
The Senior Accountant will serve as a key liaison across multiple departments, including FP&A, SEC Reporting, and other internal business and accounting teams. This individual will contribute to the development and enhancement of value-added reporting processes that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
A primary objective of this role is to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes, enabling the team to concentrate on analysis and delivering high-impact financial information to both internal and external partners.
- Manage the full cycle of accounting activities related to financial statement preparation, including journal entry creation, financial analysis, and drafting financial narratives. Ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations within assigned areas of responsibility. Ensure timely completion of schedules and prompt identification and resolution of reconciling items.
- Collaborate with operational departments to ensure accurate contract processing and appropriate revenue recognition.
- Support the annual budgeting process by reviewing project inputs and contributing to global financial assumptions.
- Assist in maintaining SOX compliance for Sales & Marketing accounting processes by ensuring effective internal controls that mitigate risk and enhance departmental efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives, implement changes, and support company-wide projects and objectives.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting processes for emerging products and services.
- Continuously evaluate current processes to identify opportunities for automation, consolidation, and improvement.
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned, based on evolving business needs and leadership direction.
4 year college degree in Accounting or Finance required
3-5 years + of related experience with Real Estate or Timeshare Accounting
Good working knowledge of ERP systems, Highly proficient Excel skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills
Self-motivated, independent, self-starter, and detail oriented.
