The Asst General Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in all facets of the property operation by maximizing all resources to obtain outstanding customer service and achieve all financial goals. Commitment and dedication to our Spirit of Service culture is an expected behavior to be displayed towards our guests and team members at all times. Candidate should enjoy the outdoors and be willing to aid in the execution of an extensive and adventurous slate of outdoor activities.
What will I be doing?
- Provides direct guidance and supervision to all front of the house departments, promoting outstanding customer service in accordance with HGVC standards.
- Directly oversees all hotel Food and Beverage outlets
- Coordinates the efforts of all departments to ensure all standards are met in the areas of productivity, profitability, cleanliness, owner/guest satisfaction.
- Conducts periodic inspection of units, and grounds noting deficiencies of employees, contractors and physical appearance of property. Notifies housekeeping and maintenance operations for corrective action.
- Responds appropriately to owner/guest problems. Ensures service is delivered in a friendly and personalized manner.
- Help coordinate activities and review for proper safety procedures. May need to operate ATV’s, Boats, and other outdoor equipment
- Assists in creating and supervising guidelines by which all employees are hired, trained, coached, counseled and terminated.
- Assists in developing and maintaining cost and labor controls to ensure operation within budget. This includes monitoring performance through observation and feedback.
- Develops career path opportunities for department heads and provides immediate direction and training to obtain these goals.
- Promotes safety awareness among all staff members.
- Assists Security to ensure key control.
- Reviews and evaluates all aspects of the resort’s operations and makes recommendations to the General Manager for changes as needed. Advises and seeks consultation from the General Manager regarding problems or areas of concern.
- Maintains an awareness of new trends or legislation that may affect the property (i.e. changes in the law, zoning, etc.). Maintains a general understanding of State and Federal laws governing the operations of interval resorts.
- Serves as a liaison to the Homeowner Association Board of Directors when requested by the General Manager.
- Assists in establishing and managing Association and resort budgets.
- Serves as a liaison to Sales and Marketing departments.
- Dependent on resort size and complexity, this position may perform all responsibilities of a Front Office Manager, as necessary.
- Carries out a reasonable request by Management of which the employee is capable of performing.
What are we looking for?
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years leadership in Food and Beverage Operations, preferably in a Hotel/Resort Setting
- Leadership experience overseeing other areas of resort/hotel operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Bachelor’d degree strongly preferred
